Explosión de Alegría

El 22 de diciembre, llevamos a cabo una bonita iniciativa: Explosión de Alegría y Cristo de la Calle de la mano de RC. Un total de 100 familias de Cumbres y Regnum Christi repartimos mantas y chocolate caliente entre las personas sin hogar del centro y zonas de los alrededores.

Para el Padre Sebastián, capellán de Cumbres y responsable de RC Jóvenes Valencia, «es una alegría ver cómo la gente se une a nosotros cantando villancicos por las calles. Como novedad, acudimos con los jóvenes a zonas que conocíamos donde hay personas sin hogar y les repartimos chocolate caliente y mantas. Es también una forma de mostrar a los niños la realidad de muchas personas en Valencia».

El recorrido fue desde el mercado de Colón hasta la Plaza de Virgen, pasando por el Belén de la Plaza de la Reina, donde hicimos una parada. «Se trata de una experiencia muy enriquecedora para jóvenes y familias, que comparten de esta forma el espíritu navideño con los más necesitados», concluye el P. Sebastián.

On 22 December, we carried out a wonderful initiative: Explosion of Joy and Christ of the Street, organised by RC. A total of 100 families from Cumbres and Regnum Christi distributed blankets and hot chocolate to homeless people in the city centre and surrounding areas.

For Father Sebastián, chaplain of Cumbres and head of RC Youth Valencia, ‘it is a joy to see how people join us in singing Christmas carols in the streets. As a new feature, we went with the young people to areas we knew where there are homeless people and distributed hot chocolate and blankets to them. It is also a way of showing children the reality of many people in Valencia.’

The route went from the Colón market to the Plaza de la Virgen, passing by the nativity scene in the Plaza de la Reina, where we made a stop. ‘It is a very enriching experience for young people and families, who share the Christmas spirit with those most in need,’ concludes Fr. Sebastián.
