Su lema es: “Que en los libros de tus hijos no te metan goles”, refiriéndose a la idea de que los libros infantiles deben ser atractivos, bien escritos y con un contenido que los padres sientan seguros para sus hijos.
Today at the Parents’ School, we welcomed Lourdes Garrigós, a colleague who, although now enjoying her well-deserved retirement, continues to passionately share the secrets she has learned throughout her career.
She taught us that reading a story is not the same as telling it, and she gave us tools to motivate our children to discover the pleasure of reading.
We also had a visit from publishing expert Rafael Martínez Echevarría, co-founder of Alexia, teacher and author of titles such as Las Crónicas de Íñigo and Colonia Pitus: Confinados en el cole, among others.
His motto is: ‘Don’t let your children’s books score goals against you,’ referring to the idea that children’s books should be attractive, well written and contain content that parents feel is safe for their children.
His experience allows him to speak knowledgeably about both which books to choose for children and why it is important to start reading at an early age.
