Las obras seleccionadas permitieron recorrer la evolución de la perspectiva en la pintura, comenzando con Fra Angelico y los primeros avances en la representación espacial, siguiendo con El Descendimiento de Cristo de Rogier van der Weyden como ejemplo del refinamiento compositivo flamenco, continuando con el análisis del uso magistral de la perspectiva y la complejidad narrativa en Las Meninas de Velázquez, y concluyendo con Los fusilamientos del 2 de mayo de Goya, que refleja la ruptura de los cánones clásicos y la expresividad moderna.

We are going to Madrid with 2nd year Baccalaureate students.

Specifically, our students have taken a guided tour of the thematic route entitled ‘The Seven Conquests’, an itinerary specially designed to understand the evolution of the conquest of perspective in painting throughout different eras and styles.

During the visit, the group worked on several key works:
The selected works allowed us to trace the evolution of perspective in painting, beginning with Fra Angelico and the first advances in spatial representation, continuing with Rogier van der Weyden‘s Descent from the Cross as an example of Flemish compositional refinement, followed by an analysis of the masterful use of perspective and narrative complexity in Velázquez‘s Las Meninas, and concluding with Goya‘s The Third of May 1808, which reflects the break with classical canons and modern expressiveness.
