Our teachers support and guide each pupil in their personal development. We draw up an Individualised Development Plan for every pupil, based on their strengths and the areas they need to work on, with specific proposals to strengthen their academic and personal growth.

We also offer additional services for pupils who need them:

In Primary we enrich the educational experience by adapting it to each pupil’s interests and needs. We run a range of programmes chosen according to what motivates them, ensuring a personalised and stimulating education.

In our forward-looking approach to education we put “learning by doing” first: practice counts for more than theory in meeting learning objectives. Turning ideas into tangible results is essential to success. Pupils work together to apply concepts and get the most from their learning. We use a range of methodologies, including:

We encourage enquiry, problem solving, reflection and cooperation, particularly in Science, connecting learning with real-life situations and rounding it off with individual activities.

Our teachers inspire pupils to become independent, critical, empathetic and creative thinkers. They encourage flexible thinking and an understanding of different perspectives, promoting innovative problem solving. They also encourage enquiry and the comparison of conflicting ideas through debate, using tools based on the theory of multiple intelligences.

Our pupils discover mathematics in a practical, creative way, using a logical and deductive approach.

We make the most of their capacity to learn at this stage to explore mathematical concepts through playful, hands-on and experiential activities. This approach not only makes maths accessible and enjoyable, it also lays a solid foundation for success in every other academic area.

Our programme develops language, phonological awareness and reading and writing skills. We include public speaking and recitation to improve both verbal and non-verbal communication. We also run literary competitions and activities in Spanish, English and Valencian, strengthening our pupils’ expression and command of all three languages.

Music and art education is key to social and cognitive development, stimulating creativity, reflection and perceptive skills. We encourage dance, choral singing and instrumental music, with interdisciplinary projects and art appreciation workshops built into cultural outings and after-school clubs.

Cumbres Primary complements the national curriculum with the Cambridge International Primary programme in subjects such as Science, ICT, English and Arts & Design. Through it, our pupils develop critical thinking and enjoy an experiential, competency-based approach to learning, with internationally standardised assessments.

At Cumbres School our interdisciplinary team — specialists in personal development (Formación Humana), educational psychology and guidance, and phase coordination — works alongside form tutors on a programme that strengthens each pupil’s all-round education and personal maturity.

We develop intellectual and creative potential in Primary through the Renzulli and Reis Schoolwide Enrichment Model, identifying pupils with outstanding creativity, commitment and ability.

We support pupils’ Christian formation with religion lessons and preparation for First Holy Communion, with the help of our school chaplain and consecrated staff.

We offer a wide range of sporting and cultural activities that build virtues and strengthen our community, including sport for parents and former pupils.

We also provide a space for parents to learn and reflect together about education, and to share their experiences.

An important part of our all-round education (formación integral) focuses on developing willpower and emotional maturity, through an active, participatory approach and a wealth of audiovisual resources. This is also part of our sports programme. Our aim is to develop in our pupils the virtues, attitudes and skills that will help them in their personal lives and in living well alongside others.

Through formative discipline we want our pupils to discover, day by day, the values behind the rules, so that they act out of personal conviction and with respect, helping to build a positive school community.

From 4º de Primaria (age 9–10) onwards we teach relationships and sex education appropriate to each age, emphasising the capacity to love and helping pupils discover the value and meaning of their body, their feelings and their sexuality.

We want our pupils to be committed to changing society for the better. To that end we run social action campaigns with partners including care homes for older people, charity collections, the Altius Project (food bank) and Cáritas Moncada, among others.

At Cumbres School we bring leading-edge educational technology into the classroom to offer adaptive, personalised learning. Our classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards, webcams, computers and iPads. From 1º de Primaria (age 6–7), pupils use digital platforms and take part in digital skills workshops as part of a whole-school digitalisation project that supports their academic and personal growth. Our teaching staff are committed to ongoing, effective training.

Cambridge International Primary programme: 5º and 6º de Primaria (ages 10–12)

ICT is central to the Cumbres School curriculum, taught both as a subject in its own right and within other subjects. The Cambridge programme introduces basic ICT applications, e-safety and ethics. Through it, pupils use technology in a guided, structured way to communicate, manage information, create models and program solutions.
